I am thankful for a cancer diagnosis. Good morning! Hope your Thanksgiving was a great time to connect with family and friends and recount why you are thankful. I am thankful that on March 9th, 2010 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma. Does it sound strange that I am so thankful for receiving a stage 4 cancer diagnosis? It may, but it’s true. Right from the beginning God worked in my heart to see cancer as a blessing and not a curse. The months following that diagnosis were filled with fears, anxieties but HOPE always won out. His promised always proved true. Here are some of the biggest lessons I learned. 1. Perspective. With only God’s help I was able to see a cancer diagnosis as a way to grow in my faith, allow God to love on me and choose to not complain or say, “why me?” Instead…

Got Water? Your body is made up 60 to 70% water. So as you can see your body depends on it to maintain life. It helps your organs to function properly, flushes out toxins and waste, keeps your skin looking young and healthy. Water helps regulate your body temperature. It is such an essential part of a healthy life. How do you lose water?  Your body will lose hydration just by functioning normally. Breathing, sweating and using the restroom cause you to lose water. There are situations where you lose more than normal. For example, hotter outside temperatures, exercising or experiencing illness, such as vomiting, can cause you to become dehydrated fast.  Medications that are used for chronic health conditions like high blood pressure can also cause you to lose more fluids. Chicken & Fruit SaladI had the pleasure of being treated by my father in law to a dinner out at The American Table in Warsaw this past weekend. I ordered their Chicken and Fruit Salad. It was amazing.
